BIO

My name is Racquel Floyd, and I have been teaching in the Bonaire Family for ten years! This was my first job out of college, and I love it here! I have taught kindergarten, fifth grade, third grade, and now second grade. I was born in California. My family and upbringing were in a Christian, military home, so I moved around a lot and met many diverse people who are still a part of my life today. I am very well spoken, driven, funny, loving, helpful, and caring. I believe in family, and I am happy that your child will be a part of the Floyd 2nd Grade Family this year!

I currently live with my husband, my seven-year-old son, Marqo, and my four-year-old, Micah in Warner Robins, GA. I am a graduate from Georgia Southwestern University with an Educational Specialist Degree in Early Childhood. I also have obtained my master’s and bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood /Special Education from the HBCU, Fort Valley State University. I also hold an endorsement for Teacher Support Coach, which means I have the honor of helping teachers be the best by pouring into themselves with self-care and love, so that they can continue to pour into your child academically and by building meaningful relationships.

I enjoy teaching, and I love to see children soak up new information like a sponge!  I am very excited for the new school year with your child. I truly believe all children can learn and that we are a school family where families support learning at home. I do not believe in a lot of homework, but I will communicate with you through Class Dojo when I need your support at home with a learning concept, including behavior at the beginning of the year. I send some homework after the new year to prepare for third grade.

In my free time, I love to read, relax, and sell real estate! I am licensed to sell real estate in Georgia. My clients and customers know that I am an expert at helping them invest, buy, or sell real estate!
Let’s have a great year! I have been successful in growing students academically for years now, so let’s grow together!
